My 1st was a 1959 VW Beetle in 1969. I was 16 years old. My dad paid $200.00 and the other $150.00 was financed thru the bank. I learned how shift a clutch and use a 4-speed tranny while scraping the ice on the inside of the windshield cause there was no heat except what came from the engine. Stopped on steep hills at a stop light was fun... I could drive all week on $3.00 and the gas station attendant washed the windshield and checked the oil and tire pressure if I asked. It's fair to say no one has seen it anywhere around town for a long time...

Hi Anthony,
Good article. Hudson Taylor was one of the 1st missionary stories that motivated me to go on the mission field.
One of our 1st lessons in Mexico learning to trust for provision is funny looking back on it. It was not funny at the time. We had a donation of soup given to us by a ministry food bank in Illinois. We had no money to buy much extra. (This occurred back in 1985) Each night I would come home and ask what was for supper. Each night my wife responded the same, "Soup..." I became very tired of soup each night.
Not until my "soup-hoard" was gone did God's provision "kick-in." Not until my provision had ended did we start to eat like regular Mexican folks. We never went hungry and always had what we needed. I'm sure there's a lesson there.
We learned a lot of good lessons during our years there. God is always good to us, all the time.
Merry Christmas Anthony to you and yours,
Mike

Hi Bethany! Always great to hear from you, and thanks for stopping by.

It sounds to me like the writing you have done is not technically "ghostwriting." Ghostwriting is more like having someone write your term paper or dissertation for you or things like that--there's an element of deception involved. You were just producing intellectual property that every reader would understand is the "voice" of the entity you worked for.

I like the caveat you add about anonymity when necessary. I have heard of writers who have to write under a pseudonym because they are Christian workers in sensitive areas. But there again, they are being up-front with people that "Hey, this is not my real name," so that deceit factor is mitigated by their honesty.

Oh, and I also agree...you should read my blog more often :-)
